Fees

Traditionally, some forestry tasks are billed based on acreage, and others are charged by the hour.   Yet, even within broad categories, the charges may vary based on the intensity of the work, the difficulty of the terrain, or other factors.  Southeast Forestry and Wildlife, LLC will tailor the pricing for your project based on the unique job specifications, circumstances and travel costs, but the following list will give you a general idea of the range of costs for a variety of services.

Brief Forest Plan - Suitable for smaller tracts and landowners who are generally not interested in commercial harvesting, this plan is based on professional inspection of property for one to two hours plus a written report of at least 10 pages.

                               up to 20 acres                 $450

                               21 to 30 acres                 $575

                               31 to 50 acres                 $700

Full Forest Management Plan with Timber Inventory and Appraisal - Suitable for most tracts with timber of merchantable size and volumes, this plan requires more extensive field work (usually several days) and a report with greater detail and depth.   Due to limited timber volumes, this plan may not be needed for tracts with less than 15 acres of merchantable timber.

                              20 acres                            $600

                              50 acres                         $1,200

Timber Sale Administration - Includes:

1) Preparing the tract for harvesting by marking boundaries, Streamside Management Zones, and crossings, etc.;

2) Preparing the Invitation to Bid and a sample contract and marketing the tract to timber buyers (which may require additional visits to the property with potential buyers);

3) Preparing the final Timber Sale Contract and coordinating its execution by both the buyer and the landowner;

4) Overseeing road and deck construction and logging of the property until the sale is complete.  Hugh will be present when the first equipment is brought onto the property and oversee buyer/contractor until logging begins.  Professional oversight will continue throughout the operation at least once per week;

5) Track and reconcile payments by buyer based on scale tickets in the case of a per unit sale;

6) Oversee proper retirement of the tract in accordance with contractual agreements, including the Forestry Best Management Practices for the appropriate state.
